Ingredients
Ingredients scaled to 9 servings
- Dark chocolate
- Salted butter
- All-purpose flour
- Powdered sugar
- ½ tsp Baking powder
- 3 tbsp Cocoa powder
- ½ cup Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- Milk chocolate
- 2 tbsp Milk or cream
- Choco-chips
- Walnuts
Preparation
- Step 1Grease a 7 by 7 inches square tin, place a butter paper in the tin and grease the butter paper.
- Step 2Melt the dark chocolate using a double boiler method, stirring while melting.
- Step 3Mix and melt the salted butter with the chocolate, then remove from the heat and let the chocolate mixture cool slightly.
- Step 4Place a ring or mould in a wide container, cover the container and preheat over medium flame for 8-10 minutes.
- Step 5Transfer the melted chocolate mixture into a bowl. Sieve the all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, baking powder and cocoa powder into the bowl and mix the ingredients.
- Step 6Add the milk in batches to the mixture and mix until a smooth thick flowing batter is formed.
- Step 7Mix the vanilla essence into the batter.
- Step 8Transfer the batter into the prepared tin, tap the tin slightly, place the tin into the preheated container, cover and cook over low flame for 35-40 minutes.
- Step 9Remove the lid, insert a toothpick to check if the brownie is cooked, then remove the tin from the container and let the brownie cool completely.
- Step 10Run a knife around the edges of the tin, invert the tin onto a plate, tap to release the brownie, lift the tin, remove the butter paper and turn the brownie back over.
- Step 11Melt the milk chocolate and milk or cream using a double boiler method and mix until a smooth chocolate sauce is formed.
- Step 12Place the brownie on a rack with a plate beneath it, pour the chocolate sauce over the brownie and spread the sauce evenly over the top.
- Step 13Transfer the brownie onto a plate, cut the brownie into 9 pieces, top with choco-chips and pieces of walnut, then set in the fridge for a while.
Notes
- This eggless brownie is baked without an oven using a stovetop setup in a wide container with a ring or mould to elevate the tin.
